Producing Top Athletes for the USA Diving National Team

The Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving program is one of the top programs in the United States and in the world. The Nadadores regularly place athletes on the USA Diving Junior and Senior National Teams, as well as on international squads representing the United States of America in international competitions.

Most recently, Nadador diver, Anna Lemkin won the 2022 Junior World Championships on 3m and earned a bronze medal on platform. 2 other Nadador athletes competed at the 2022 Junior World Championships.

Below is a list of our Nadador athletes who are members of the USA Diving National Team. The Nadadores have more athletes on the National Team than any other club in the United States.

Zach

Zach Welsh

1. I dive 3m, 1m, platform, and synchronized 3m, and I am in the 16-18 age group.

2. My favorite event is the 1m springboard. My favorite dive is 107c on 1m.

3. My top national finish is 4th on platform. I have not been to an international meet.

4. My favorite activity outside of the pool is either surfing or playing video games.

5. I am committed to Purdue University.

6. I love being a Nadador because of the amazing coaches and wonderful teammates. I also love being a Nadador because the team environment is very upbeat and happy. The Nadadores are able to have fun while also working hard to improve ourselves and each other on and off the pool deck.

Jake

Jake Welsh

1. I compete Junior boys 16-18 1 meter, 3 meter, and platform. Senior men 3 meter synchro, 3 meter individual, and 1 meter individual.

2. My favorite event is 3 meter springboard and 205b is my favorite dive.

3. My top national finish is 3rd in both platform and 3 meter at the 14-15 junior nationals. Also, 1st in men’s synchronized 3 meter at the Senior Open.

4. My favorite activity outside the pool is surfing.

5. I am committed to University of Austin Texas

6. I love being a Nadador because of the great team spirit, amazing coaches, and because everyone pushes each other to be better.

Taylor

Taylor Fox

1. I dive 16-18 1m, 3m, and platform. 

2. My favorite event is 3m and my favorite dive is 205c on 3m. 

3. Top national finishes: 5th on 1m, 6th on 3m, and 8th on platform. 

4. My favorite activity outside of the pool is going to the beach.

5. I am committed to University of Texas, Austin 

6. I love being a Nadador because the team is like a second family to me. We all strive to be the best we can and push each other which makes practice really enjoyable. All the coaches are very supportive and will always make you laugh. 

Anna

Anna Lemkin

1. I dive 1m, 3m, and tower, and am currently in the 16-18 age group. 

2. My favorite event is tower and my favorite dive is 6243d on 10m. 

3. I am a 5x Junior National Champion, 3m Junior World Champion, and Junior World’s Bronze Medalist on platform. 

4. My favorite activity outside of the pool is hanging out with friends. 

5. I am committed to Stanford University. 

6. I love being a Nadador because of the community aspect of our program, expanding beyond the dive program into the swim side as well. I am constantly inspired by the Nadadores around me, and always feel supported and loved by our community.

Avery

Avery Giese

1. I dive 1m, 3m, and platform in the 16-18 age group.

2. My favorite dive is 305c on 10m, and my favorite event is platform.

3. My best finishes are:
     2019 Junior Nationals: 1st on 1m, 2nd on 3m, and 2nd on platform
     2021 Junior Nationals: 6th on 1m, 4th on 3m, and 4th on platform
     2022 Junior National finalist on 1m

4. My favorite activity outside of the pool is hanging out with friends. 

5. I am committed to University of Kentucky. 

6. I love being a Nadador because the team is a family. We train hard together, we push each other, and we encourage each other. 

Callie

Callie Fox

1. I dive 1m, 3m, and platform in the 14-15 girls age group.

2. My favorite event is platform, and my favorite dive is 201b on 7m.

3. My best finish is winning the 2022 Junior Nationals Platform event.

4. Outside of the pool I love going to the beach and hanging out with my friends

6. I love diving for the Nadadores because they are a fun, loving, and supportive team that helps you reach your goals and have fun!

Jaiden

Jaiden Lynch

1. I dive 1m, 3m, and platform and I am in the 16-18 age group.

2. My favorite dive is 305c on 10m and my favorite event to compete is three meter springboard.

3. I won second place on tower at the Jr. Nationals Championships in 2021, and I got second place on tower at the Jr. Pan American Championships in 2021. I got fourth at the Futures Cup in Great Britain in 2022. 

4. I love to bake for my friends and family and play tennis.

5. I am committed to UT Austin.

6. I love being a Nadador because of the friends I have made and the opportunities that come with being part of Mission Viejo community. I am able to dive for more hours and go to both national and international competitions. The community at Mission Viejo is like a family and I am very grateful to be a member.

Nolan

Nolan Rooker

1. I compete in the 16-18 age group on 1-meter, 3-meter individual, 3-meter synchro, and platform.

2. My favorite event is 3-meter individual, and my favorite dive is 305c on 3m.

3. I’ve placed 10th in the 16-18 Jr. National Finals on platform and 3-meter individual, as well as 11th place in the 2019 USA Open Final in 3-meter individual.

4. Although I spend a lot of time between school and practice, I spend my free time hanging out with friends, reading, and biking with my dad.

5. I’m committed to Northwestern University.

6. There are so many reasons why I love the Nadadores, but there are two reasons in particular: the team atmosphere and excellent coaching. At the Nadadores, our coaches do not only have a history of producing elite divers, but they also foster a cooperative environment that makes me excited to come to practice and learn with my teammates.

Memphis

Memphis Watts

1. I compete 1m, 3m, and platform in the 14-15 age group.

2. My favorite event is 1m springboard and my favorite dive is 105b on 1m.

3. My top national finish is 2nd place on platform, 3rd place on 1m springboard, and 3rd place on 3m springboard.

4. Outside of the pool, I like to go to the beach.

6. I love being a Nadador because of the team sprit and how we push each other to be the best we can.

Grayson

Grayson Campbell

1. Men’s 3m Springboard and Synchronized 3m 

2. My favorite dive is 5337d, and favorite event is 3m Individual. 

3. Diving accolades: 13 Junior National Titles, 3 Senior National Titles, 5 All-American finishes at NCAAs, 2nd place 3m Synchro and 6th Individual 3m at 2021 Tokyo Olympic Trials.

4. I love to play golf, fantasy football, and hangout at the beach when I’m away from the pool.

5. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2020.

6. I love being a Nadador because the traditions of excellence and prestige of the program bring out the best in each of the athletes. There’s a sense of pride representing Mission Viejo, and a desire to continue those traditions in honor of those that have come before you.

David C

David Colturi

1. Men’s 27m High Diving and Cliff Diving.

2. My favorite dive is 302E, and favorite event is cliff diving from natural takeoff locations. 

3. Diving accolades: 2 USAD National Champion Titles – 2009 10m Individual and Synchronized, 7 NCAA All-American Awards, 2010 Big Ten 1m Champion , 2 World University Games Bronze Medals, 1 Red Bull Cliff Diving Event Champion, 14 Red Bull Cliff Diving Podiums, and the 2019 FINA High Diving World Cup Silver Medalist.

4. I love to stay active outside of the pool, especially in the mountains and the oceans with skiing, surfing, biking, hiking, and climbing.

5. I graduated from Purdue University in 2011.

6. I love being a Nadador because of the world class facility, training, and community. The blue and gold are more than just a sports organization. We’re a family that cares about the fulfillment and potential of everyone, in and out of the water.

Diver Two

Age Group: Elite

David’s diving career started at 5 years old, and continues to this day as he joins the Nadadores as both an Assistant Coach and a Competitive High Diver and Cliff Diver. David spent the majority of his JO years with Ed Goodman and Buck Smith at Legacy Diving.
