Mission Viejo Divers Make Waves on the World Stage
The summer of 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent memory for Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving. From world championship
Our Elite Team is one of the most premier groups of divers in the United States. It regularly consists of USA Diving Team Champions, USA Diving Individual National Champions and USA Diving National Team athletes. We are constantly striving to give athletes in this portion of our program an amazing experience that will not only teach lessons in the pool, but also outside the pool that will carry them through the rest of their lives. Who our athletes are as people when they leave this program is of the utmost importance.
The Elite Team athletes will always take a long-term approach in their training. Competitive success at a young age is not the primary driver. Instilling the foundation necessary to reach their full potential is where our focus will always lie.
Athletes will enter the Junior Elite team from the Novice portion of the program. Athletes will be placed on the Junior Elite team when they are showing a high level of proficiency in the basic fundamental skills of diving. It is also imperative that these athletes show a high level of character and work ethic to progress through our program.
Placement on the Elite Team from the Junior Elite team is done by showing a high proficiency in more complex fundamentals which are the building blocks for success in the sport. A slow progression will be followed from one skill to the next ensuring that our athletes are always excelling in the skills they are attempting. While it is easy for coaches, athletes, and parents to look at the present success of athletes, the Nadadores approach will always have an eye towards the future to ensure they will excel to their peak potential. If we skip steps in our progressions for short-term success, we limit our athletes ability to be the best they can be down the road.
