MISSION VIEJO, CA — The USA Diving Junior National Championships returns to Orange County in 2023, and the Mission Viejo Nadadores announced the return of the iconic event for the first time since 2007.
The competition and warm-up dates are slated for July 24 through Aug. 2, 2023, at the Marguerite Aquatic Complex in Mission Viejo. The competition features 600 of the top junior divers from across the country competing in three events and four age groups.
“We are thrilled to host this national event in Mission Viejo. It’s been more than 15 years since the junior nationals were held in California, and I’m confident the Nadadores will do a tremendous job as we welcome divers from across the country to Southern California,” President of USA Diving Lee Michaud said in a news release.
The competition is one of the most prestigious junior event USA Diving hosts and is the culmination of region and zone championship qualifying.
The event serves to crown the best junior divers from across the country as junior national champions and determines the divers who will represent the United States at junior international meets.
